Senator Who Called Pride 'A Parade of Perversion' Launches 'Gays for God's Good Grace' Charity – Claims It's 'Totally Not a PR Stunt'

January 6, 2025
In a move that's less 'political genius' and more 'what the actual heck?', Senator Braxton Bigglesworth, the man who famously described Pride parades as 'a parade of perversion' and 'an affront to traditional values' (while simultaneously sporting a $5,000 alligator-skin wallet), has announced the launch of his new charity, 'Gays for God's Good Grace'.

The charity, whose logo features a rainbow-colored dove inexplicably wearing a tiny top hat, aims to 'guide wayward souls back to the straight and narrow… or, you know, whatever path makes them happy.' Senator Bigglesworth, in a press conference punctuated by awkward silences and the faint scent of desperation, insisted the initiative is 'purely altruistic' and 'absolutely not a cynical attempt to repair his image after that whole 'homophobic remarks' thing'.

'It's about helping these... uh... *individuals* find inner peace and purpose,' Bigglesworth stammered, occasionally glancing at a prepared statement that seemed to be mostly pictures of kittens. 'We'll be offering workshops on… uh… 'traditional values'… and… knitting. Yes, knitting. It's very calming. For everyone.'

Critics, however, aren't buying it. 'It's like when that one guy in high school who kept calling you names suddenly decided to invite you to his birthday party – super creepy, right?' commented activist and self-proclaimed 'gender-fluid unicorn' Willow Whisperingwind. 'It reeks of performative allyship, and the blatant appropriation of rainbow imagery is… well, it’s giving '70s disco ball meets religious zealot'.

Meanwhile, the charity's website is already overflowing with applications. Sources say the majority come from drag queens applying for 'spiritual guidance' and 'grants to fund their next extravagant runway looks'. Go figure.

When asked about the potential for conflict between the charity's stated goals and the Senator's past homophobic statements, Bigglesworth simply shrugged and said, 'Well, you know, everybody makes mistakes. Especially when they're under immense pressure from the media… and their very concerned wife… and their increasingly rebellious teenage son who just came out as a non-binary performance artist.'

The irony, of course, is completely lost on him.
