**Local Politician's Drag Brunch Attendance Sparks 'National Emergency' (Says Nobody, Except Maybe Tucker Carlson)

January 8, 2025
In a shocking turn of events that has sent shockwaves through the nation (mostly the ones emanating from Fox News's perpetually outraged studios), Mayor Mildred McMillan was spotted enjoying a drag brunch this past Sunday. Sources confirm the Mayor, known for her staunchly 'traditional' views (which, let's be honest, peaked around the invention of the rotary phone), was seen sashay-ing into the 'Trixie Mattel's Tea Party & Tequila' extravaganza with what eyewitnesses described as "unbridled enthusiasm."

The incident, which unfolded amidst a dazzling display of glitter cannons, sickeningly fabulous costumes, and a surprisingly eloquent rendition of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' (performed by a six-foot-four drag queen in a sparkly Uncle Sam suit), has ignited a furious debate. Conservative pundits are claiming this is a blatant disregard for 'family values,' an attack on 'the very fabric of society,' and possibly a direct message to the lizard people controlling the global supply chain.

One particularly irate commenter on Mayor McMillan's Facebook page (a page she desperately wishes she'd never created) wrote, "This is an outrage! Next, she'll be advocating for gender-neutral bathrooms and… gasp… *equal rights!*" The sheer horror of this last suggestion caused several commenters to simultaneously clutch their pearls and simultaneously spill their lukewarm mimosas.

Meanwhile, the Mayor's office released a statement saying, "The Mayor enjoyed a delightful brunch and found the experience to be both enriching and surprisingly delicious. She is also now a fully-fledged member of the 'RuPaul's Drag Race' fan club. Further comments will be made only if the next brunch features bottomless mimosas and a performance by a drag queen who can accurately imitate the mating calls of the endangered Bolivian tree lizard."

This leaves us with one question: Is this a sign of our ever-evolving society, a testament to the power of acceptance, or just a politician having a really, really fun Sunday? Only time (and possibly another drag brunch) will tell. But one thing's for sure: the supply of pearl necklaces has never been so threatened.
