Senator Who Cancelled Drag Shows… Now Stars in a *RuPaul's Drag Race*-Themed Fundraiser?! The 'Rainbow Rebellion' Begins!

April 16, 2025
In a shocking twist that has sent ripples of confusion (and glitter) through the nation, Senator Horatio Harshbottom, the man who famously cancelled three county drag shows citing concerns about 'the moral fabric of America' (and possibly the fabric of his own ill-fitting suit), has been revealed as the star attraction in a *RuPaul's Drag Race*-themed charity fundraiser. Sources say the event, dubbed 'The Rainbow Rebellion' (a name that’s suspiciously close to the name of a certain wildly successful LGBTQ+ themed television show), saw the senator sashay down a runway in a shimmering, hand-beaded gown, complete with a ten-foot train that could probably house a small family of squirrels.

"It's all about context," explained Harshbottom, emerging from a backstage haze of hairspray and existential dread. "My previous stance was, well, let’s just say it was less... *polished*. This, however, is high-brow drag. Think less 'Wigstock,' more 'Downton Abbey'...if Downton Abbey had a sickeningly fabulous reveal involving a reveal of a hidden six-pack."

The fundraiser, benefiting the 'Save the Moral Fabric (But Also Fund Gay Pride) Foundation,' raised a record-breaking amount. Ironically, the bulk of the donations were allegedly made by those same individuals who previously protested Senator Harshbottom's original decision to cancel the drag shows. 'Ironic, isn’t it?', chuckled one attendee, adjusting their ‘Make America Gay Again’ sash. 'The hypocrisy is as dazzling as the senator's makeup.'

Experts are baffled, with Dr. Philomena Philander, renowned sociologist and self-proclaimed 'Queen of Queer Theory,' noting, "This situation is a masterclass in performative allyship. Or possibly just a very clever, and slightly terrifying, publicity stunt. I'm going with both."
